Outfits That Take You From Day to Night

Ah, the holidays: an exciting yet challenging time for closets everywhere. From the office party and after party to everything in between—there is no shortage of running around from place to place this time of year. Luckily, there is also no shortage of versatile pieces that make it easy to transition your outfits from day to night, work party to Christmas party or out-and-about to girl’s night out. And our feature fashion blogger, Lauren McBride, has the perfect outfit combinations that do the trick below.

With the holidays approaching, I like to have a few key pieces in my wardrobe for last-minute holiday events or get togethers like an office Christmas party. I specifically aim for pieces that can transition from day to night with the simple swap of a few accessories or shoes, that way I get the most from each item!

Today I’m excited to share with you two transitional day to night looks that are perfect for the holiday season. Flannel is always a star wardrobe piece during the fall and winter, and I love how easily it can transition for the evening. For day time, pair a button down plaid with a pair of jeggings, boots, and your coziest cardi. Add a cute knit hat for extra warmth! Layering and mixing textures gives a sophisticated and cozy holiday look!

To transition a classic flannel top from day to night time, kick off your boots and add some fun stilettos. Adding a lace cami underneath, layered with some sparkly jewelry and a bold lipstick makes the look ready for a festive party or evening out!

Another staple wardrobe piece is a neutral sweater dress. I love the versatility a sweater dress has to offer, and it’s easily styled for both day and night time. Knee high boots and a faux fur vest make the sweater dress a little more casual for a daytime, wintry look. I love adding cozy knit tights or knee high socks for some added layers and texture. It also keeps my legs warm!

To transition this sweater dress to night time, I simply removed the layers and added a pair of wedge booties, a faux leather jacket and a statement necklace. The jacket instantly gives this night look a little edge, which is perfect for the upcoming holiday parties!

I bought a pair of boots online, recived them they did not fit right so I returned them to the store in Las Lunas, NM. Great customer service. They checked online and found another pair I liked in my size. So they refuned the other pair, and ordered the new ones. 8 days later my new pair came in. I tried one boot on, fit was perfect. Took it off laid it back in their box. I was looking at them and thought some dirt was on them. Nope they were scratch, both boots were damaged. So I reboxed them and took them back to the Las Lunas store. As I pulled them out to show the employees I noticed that these boots were used. NOT new at all. They were worn. They had dirt on the bottom of the boot. Both legs of the boots were damaged. I can not believe that this company sent me worn, used damaged boots. I got an apology from the store employees and they searched and found me another pair. Of course I paid for them, with the refunded money from the used boots, but nothing else. No here is a $50/ $100 gift card for your trouble. And for the huge mistake and trouble our company has cause you. I will be telling everyone I know about this and posting on all my social media sites and any other sites I can find…
