Sandee Joseph’s carefully curated wardrobe is about showing the world “Style is not just for the skinny.” (No offense to our tiny size 2 friends!) She believes a plus size body can be on trend and even envied for its hourglass awesomeness. Her favorite brands? The ones that know how to dress her body shape so she can step out looking her best! Fresh off of playing hostess on Fourth of July weekend, I decided to have an easy ladies-only picnic on the terrace on Saturday. The weather was ah-mazing. I decided to forego grilling and do takeout instead. In my New York neighborhood, I’m surrounded by every genre of food you can think of -Thai, Italian, French Fusion, Mexican, you name it. But I ordered all-American fried chicken! Not having to marinate or cook made it an even more relaxing evening. Add a bottle of wine, sparkling water and Mexican coke and good times were on their way.

Of course my friends had to know where my dress was from – they thought it was a find from a trip to Mexico I took last year. The tassels and fringe around the border are such darling details and so festive…perfect for a get-together.

When you think laid back style, besides sweats, the next choice would probably be anything indigo – like this. I put together a blue look complete with straw hat, striped espadrilles, and a denim blue bandana in my hair. Shirt-dresses give you comfort without sacrificing style. Again with the details! This dress has an unexpected crochet back that’s right up my alley. Casual, but fashionable. What are your off-duty style go-tos?
