A workout that acts as a warm-up and builds muscle? That’s serious multitasking. One that motivates you to workout even when you’re on-the-go? That’s seriously awesome. And if there’s anyone that can make motivational Monday last through Sunday, it’s Tara Mackey, motivational speaker, soul singer, Founder and CEO of The Organic Life and blogger at The Organic Life Blog. Check out Tara’s on-the-go workout and favorite go-to styles below!
I’m about as low-maintenance as it gets when it comes to fitness. My version of ready-to-go is a 3-second bun and no makeup. I prefer the track of my local high school over a gym membership, and the idea of sticking to the same routine every day instead of switching it up is a total nightmare. As a busy business owner, author, and speaker, it sometimes seems near impossible to find the inspiration to get up and move when all I want to do is relax after a long day.
But that doesn’t mean I skip fitness altogether! In fact, I’ve personally created three fitness plans (San Diego Living even called them, “The best way to become your own personal trainer!”). Between my work and my hectic schedule, I’m constantly reminded that every day it’s SO important to connect with your body. This is the only sure-fire way to find and gain our optimum health and feel truly successful.
So, what gets me motivated, even when I have a bad case of the Mondays?
Instead of giving myself the excuse that I’m too busy, too tired or not in the mood to work out, I try to do my routine alongside my busy schedule, instead of around it. I get fitness in no matter what – even when I’m on-the-go. If I can do it, you can too!
One of my favorite things about maurices activewear is that it can smoothly transition from fitness fabulous to casual and stylish. I love that you can easily create a look that is wearable anywhere – from the organic juice bar to a local mountain hike.
The clothes are breezy and flowable, so it’s easy to pause my hike and do a leg lift with some killer views – one of my personal faves!
I’m crazy about this workout – it’s great for any body type. You can practice it everywhere and it also makes a wonderful warm-up stretch!
- To do this butt-building move, start in a standing position
- Make sure you have something to balance on, such as a fence post, bench or chair
- Slowly lift your right leg behind you, keeping your left leg straight
- Balance yourself on your left leg and straighten your right leg as much as you can
- Lower your right leg, switch sides and repeat
3 sets of 10 a day will do you good!
I am so grateful for this top – it covers anything you may be trying to work off, but it also adds a simple layer that you can move in with ease.
I love how stylish this activewear is! Fitted, cozy, and not tight on my body, so I can breathe, stretch, and run with no problem. I’m easily able to get my pride on, cheer for my favorite team, watch the game or lounge around – all in the same outfit!
Why fit in when you can stand out? You’ll adore the endless eye-catching pattern choices – mix and match to create an array of styles all your own!
