In Kansas City, the hot area to head to brunch is north – anywhere from the crossroads to downtown to the west bottoms, but last weekend we ventured south instead. In the newer development of Prairiefire, there are multiple restaurant and weekend brunch spots perfect for groups of friends. My favorite part is taking a stroll after, just around the corner to the breathtaking and colorful museum. You don’t even have to go in to make it all worth it (but I highly encourage you do!). Brunch attire on the weekend is a more comfy-casual opportunity for me. Depending on the restaurant we are going to or if we’re doing anything afterwards, I love to keep it low maintenance. Gray denim are a perfect twist to your regular blue-jeans, and a classic stripe tee in a flowy and longer length is a great compliment.
Just 45 minutes north of Kansas City is Weston, MO. It’s the perfect small town for a day, afternoon or evening away. With a small main street busting with character, there is no shortage of shops to explore or drinks to be had. The perfect backdrop to any girlfriend time can be had a Pirtle Winery. Enjoy the outdoor patio covered with vines while tasting testing their wine – surprisingly good! My favorites are Effervescent Blueberry and Weston Bend Rosé, and they make a delicious wine-slush. Add a bread, cheese and sausage bowl to your afternoon and you are set. This blue/white check sundress is the perfect summer piece to wear from day to night. It’s feminine vibe is ideal for a girls afternoon of wine tasting, shopping and/or exploring and easy to dress up for an evening of dinner and dancing. Come summer months, you can most likely find me in a sweet summer dress like this for most anything!
