With summer right around the corner it’s so crucial to have a hairstyle that can let you look put together and casual at the same time! This half up twist is easy to create and can work for almost any hair length!

  1. Start by creating loose waves all over. I sometimes will clip my hair up portions to make sure I get everything curled but since this is a ‘messy’ look you can try any way and if you miss anything it will surely blend.
  2. Curl the hair with a flat iron to get a more kinky relaxed curl and less of a retro glam wave. Start with small sections and place the flat iron at the top of your hair. Gently turn the iron away from your face and loosely make your way down the hair. Make sure to not curl the last 1/2 inch of your hair because that straight portion gives you the beach texture.
  3. After curling lift the hair around the crown of your head and tease to your desire. I use a brush but combs work great too.
  4. Run your fingers through your hair and set with hairspray.
  5. Take sections midway from your forehead and twist them with your finger. Bring both strands back and secure with bobby pins.
  6. Make sure you place your pins in a criss cross so they look even. You can always loosen the pieces with your fingers.
  7. Once pinned make sure to spray everything with hairspray to set!

  4. Twist the pieces on either side by your ear and tuck those over the headband and secure with a bobby pin.
  5. After the side pieces are secure take the remaining hair and curl towards your head on itself.
